Andrew Tate: A Name That Dominates Boat Racing
Boat racing may lack a decathlete division, but if it existed, Andrew Tate would undoubtedly lead the pack. During the 2023 race season, Tate piloted boats across various classes, including Stock Outboard, 350 Hydro, Grand Prix Hydro, Formula 1, and, of course, Unlimited Hydroplane. In this captivating episode, Tate delves into the exhilarating experiences of racing these diverse boats.
A Fourth-Generation Boat Racer
Tate's journey began at the tender age of 11, competing in the APBA Stock and Modified Outboard classes. His innate talent quickly emerged, propelling him to multiple National Championships. In 2023, Tate clinched the Hydroplane Racing League (HRL) Grand Prix Season Championship for the second consecutive year. In 2023, as the driver of the Miss Madison Racing U-91 Miss Goodman Real Estate Unlimited Hydroplane, he seamlessly stepped into the shoes of the retiring champion, Jimmy Shane.
Following in His Father's Wake
Tate follows in the wake of his father, Mark Tate, a legend with four driving championships and two gold cup victories during his Unlimited career. Since his debut in the Unlimited category back in 2016, the younger Tate has garnished an impressive nine wins, including a coveted driver's championship and an exhilarating Gold Cup victory.
Beyond the Inboard Hydroplanes
But Tate's passion isn't confined to the roaring engines of hydroplanes. In 2023, he expanded his horizons to the F1 Championship Powerboat circuit, skillfully driving a tunnel boat owned by his close friend and fellow racer, Dylan Runne.
And when winter's icy breath descends, you'll find Andrew Tate trading water for ice. His love for competitive ice hockey, cultivated since childhood and carried through college, remains unwavering. Alongside his racing pursuits, Tate actively contributes to the family business, Sun Coating Company, where he thrives in Sales and Marketing.
